Frequently
Asked Questions

It’s normal to have questions before starting. Below are answers to some of the most common client questions.

1. What is the difference between coaching/consulting and psychotherapy?
While we are licensed mental health professionals, our coaching and consulting services are distinct from psychotherapy. Coaching focuses on goal-setting, skill-building, and personal/professional development, whereas psychotherapy addresses mental health conditions, emotional healing, and clinical diagnoses.

Coaching is not a substitute for therapy and does not involve diagnosing or treating mental health disorders. If you are seeking therapy, we can provide referrals to appropriate mental health services.
2. Do you accept insurance for coaching services?
No, coaching and consulting services are private pay only and are not covered by health insurance. Since these services are not considered medical treatment, insurance companies do not reimburse for them. Payment is due before or at the time of service.
3. What are your fees for coaching sessions?
Fees vary depending on the type and length of the session. Please contact us directly for current rates and package options.
4. What is your cancellation policy?
We require at least 48 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or no-shows will result in a full charge for the session. Exceptions may be made for emergencies at my discretion.
5. How do I schedule a coaching session?
You can schedule a session by contacting us at attunein@gmail.com or calling us at 650-799-6066. Once scheduled, you will receive a confirmation with further details.
6. Is coaching confidential?
Yes, we uphold strict confidentiality in coaching sessions. However, there are legal limits to confidentiality (e.g., risk of harm to self or others). A full confidentiality agreement will be provided before beginning services.
7. Can I switch from coaching to therapy (or vice versa)?
If you are interested in transitioning to psychotherapy (or vice versa), we will discuss the best options for your needs. In some cases, we may refer you to another provider to ensure ethical and legal compliance.
8. How long does coaching typically last?
The duration varies based on your goals. Some clients benefit from short-term coaching (4-6 sessions), while others prefer ongoing support. We will discuss a plan tailored to your needs.
9. Do you offer group coaching or workshops?
Yes, we provide group coaching, workshops, and corporate consulting. Please inquire for details on upcoming programs.
10. How do I know if coaching is right for me?
If you are looking for structured support in areas like leadership, productivity, career growth, or personal development—without the clinical focus of therapy—coaching may be a great fit. We can schedule a brief consultation to discuss your needs.
